The Opera Nazionale Balilla (ONB) was an Italian paramilitary organization that trained kiddie Fascists. Mussolini Youth, if you will. This 1930s photograph of saluting Balilla members shows some boys dressed the way li'l Fritzy would have been in the picture he described to Frank.
